One thing they've removed several years ago was the Community Contributions. I was mad when they removed this because it made subtitles much easier to do. And if you didn't want it on your channel you could just disable it.

Nobody remembers this but you were able to automatically add recently uploaded Videos of a Channel to a Playlist

What's funny is that they barely even add any new features. They just keep removing the old ones. They also got rid off the "Sort by oldest" option for no reason, as well as the dislike counter.

because youtube is a trash website with a stupid staff. i only use it because there's no true competition to it as every other service is either trashier or not good enough YouTube has been removing features from the website a lot of times. Dislike button count removed, sort by oldest removed, export playlists removed, disable subs count removed They're stupid, they can't help it.

Honorable mention, human rule violation reviewers. Now they use bots that target people who never even consider breaking rules while the people who do break the rules get away with murder.

That, as you could see on everyone's channel, tabs Subscribers and also Subscriptions (Being able to see everyone) were something. It was also cool to send private messages to recommend something to someone, and tab discussions (formerly comments).

The one thing i miss the most would be the option to directly message another user.

Before groups were taken away, there was a bug in the Members Approval Section where it would just load and load and load and it never finished loading. Unlike most bugs, which wen away after a few days, this bug stayed in place for three months before YouTube announced they were taking groups away. I don't know if they knew about the bug despite the numerous users telling YouTube about it or if YouTube ever even tried fixing the bug, but were unable to for three months. It is just hard to know if it was a matter of "They can't fix it" or "They won't fix it".
